On a chilly February evening in Denver, Colorado, Ava and Lindsay were three drinks deep at happy hour when the conversation took a turn for the best. It was decided that people just had to know about all the cool shit out there that could make their lives better through automation. Using the definition of automation (see below) loosely, each episode explores the subscriptions, services, and technologies that makes lives less shitty.
noun | /ˌôdəˈmāSH(ə)n/
Automation or automatic control, is the use of various control systems with minimal or reduced human intervention. Some processes have been completely automated. The biggest benefit of automation is that it saves labor; however, it is also used to save energy and materials and to improve quality, accuracy and precision.
A quiet extrovert, Ava gets by on dirty chai teas, vintage finds and offbeat travel. Stepping far out of her comfort zone, she has joined the community of podcasters.
While searching for ways to simplify life and remove distractions, Ava has discovered a full-circle approach to a cross pollination of life with control and life with automation.
When Ava isn't working, you can find her traveling from city to city to visit friends and family or socializing at the local bar. On a calmer day, she's most likely cooped up in her apartment watching movies while drawing or painting.
Laid-back, spontaneous, and soft-spoken are not words used to describe Lindsay. Always the first to voice her opinion, she found herself drawn to the world of podcasting.
In terms of automation, it is Lindsay's belief that every chore, task, and moment in life that is begrudgingly spent can be outsourced or at least be made simpler and easier.
From 9 to 5 you can find Lindsay analyzing data in business intelligence at a luxury travel company. In her spare time, she is a graphic designer, photographer, travel blogger, and all-around side hustler who clearly doesn't get a lot of sleep.
